As people get older and sometimes in the case of injury, they need someone to make decisions for them with respect to their health and or their money or other assets. If you and your parent(s) have a good relationship and look ahead and plan, you can help them assign their Power of Attorney to someone such as yourself. As a Power of Attorney you are empowered to make all the decisions for your parents that they assign to you. For example they could only assign you the right to make healthcare decisions, or manage some or all of their assets. (click for more)
